Our Story

All you need to know about me can be summarised into a simple phrase:  I am a simple kid that enjoys fixing things.

My dad was your typical blue-collar worker; a panel beater by trade, but could literally fix anything that was broken.  He also had many jobs in many different sectors.  My mum was one of the hardest workers I have ever seen even to this day.  She spent her career in hospitality and also in financial controller roles; worked 6 days a week and still came home and cooked dinner most nights.  So it is easy to see the work ethic I was conditioned into, but also the value of being versatile.

We didn’t have much money growing up either, so it was the simple things that I grew up with.  We went camping; we worked on cars and ate very simply.  The option to throw things out that were broken just wasn’t there.  So I learned very early on to pull something apart, investigate and see how it worked in order to fix it.  It is these learned traits of being versatile, hard-working, humble, and able to fix things that have served me well in my career.  I have had 6 career paths to this point military, retail, education, practice management, CEO, and finally entrepreneur.  In each, I have taken great lessons into the next.  

In late 2013, whilst I was studied my Education degree, my boss at the time suggested that one day, I should teach business owners how to run their business.  To be able to take complex concepts, break them down and empart knowledge on others could be really valuable.  This was the catalyst for the creation of Bizee Management Solutions some 6 years later.  But I first needed to quantify my business experience with a formal qualification.

In 2017, I commenced my Executive MBA studies at Melbourne Business School and upon graduation in 2019, my dad lost his battle with MND.  The silver lining I guess to that, was it forced me to re-evaluate life.  I wanted to help others acheive success.  I wanted to be able to pass on my knowledge.  I wanted to serve.  But I also wanted a simpler life.  So Bizee was born.

Today, I still enjoy camping most weekends with my young family; I restore historic cars in my spare time (and even document it on my YouTube channel: Skillo’s Shed) and love working with businesses that may need a little help.
