Everyone has a unique story about their experiences.
This is part of ours.
G'day, call me Az
All you need to know about me can be summarised into a simple phrase: I am a simple kid that enjoys fixing things.
My dad was your typical blue-collar worker; a panel beater by trade, but could literally fix anything that was broken. He also had many jobs in many different sectors. My mum was one of the hardest workers I have ever seen even to this day. She spent her career in hospitality and also in financial controller roles; worked 6 days a week and still came home and cooked dinner most nights. So it is easy to see the work ethic I was conditioned into, but also the value of being versatile.
We didn’t have much money growing up either, so it was the simple things that I grew up with. We went camping; we worked on cars and ate very simply. The option to throw things out that were broken just wasn’t there. So I learned very early on to pull something apart, investigate and see how it worked in order to fix it.
It is these learned traits of being versatile, hard-working, humble, and able to fix things that have served me well in my career. I have had 6 career paths to this point military, retail, education, practice management, CEO, and finally entrepreneur. In each, I have taken great lessons into the next. I make no secret that the military is where I felt I was destined to be; a life of service to our country. But due to circumstances, I now take that duty of service to my clients.
In late 2013, whilst I was studied my Education degree, my boss at the time suggested that one day, I should teach business owners how to run their business. To be able to take complex concepts, break them down and empart knowledge on others could be really valuable. This was the catalyst for the creation of Bizee Management Solutions some 6 years later. But I first needed to quantify my business experience with a formal qualification.
In 2017, I commenced my Executive MBA studies at Melbourne Business School and upon graduation in 2019, my dad lost his battle with MND. The silver lining I guess to that, was it forced me to re-evaluate life. I wanted to help others acheive success. I wanted to be able to pass on my knowledge. I wanted to serve. But I also wanted a simpler life. So Bizee was born.
Today, I still enjoy camping most weekends with my young family; I restore historic cars in my spare time and love fixing businesses that may need a little help. But most of all, I try to have an uncomplicated life!
All small to mid-tier accounting firms are operating sustainably, ethically and profitably leveraging technology.
Bizee Management Solutions was founded in 2019 to provide support and guidance to small to medium business owners. Developing business acumen takes time and the right guidance and we felt we were in the best position to offer this. We initially offered services in the areas of outsourced CFO; COO and business coaching.
But as it evolved, we found that we were working with more and more accounting firms and helping them with their technology deployments as well as strategy generation. With the accounting industry constantly changing, we found that the progressive firms weren’t comfortable to rest on their laurels. They were more open to taking advantage of outside, independent advice in areas that they might not have the necessary knowledge in.
So in 2023, we rebranded and refocused our energies to working with accounting firms on this journey. We are also still working with a handful of small businesses, but our experience lends really well to the financial industry and we are excited to see every firm leverage the possibilities that technology can offer.
Why choose us
With 20 years’ experience in business, coupled with military and education backgrounds, we have extensive knowledge across a number of different business contexts. Having worked with a number of small to mid-tier firms, we understand firm operations better than most. This includes everything from admin, to compliance file preparation, workpapers, to advisory workflows and all everything between.
Executive level decision making
With both Executive level MBA qualifications and Officer military training, we possess that level of decisiveness that is required to operate at this level. Having also current and past experience in CEO and Board member roles, we understand exactly how all the pieces fit together. We understand quickly what is required to be completed and how best to complete it.
High performing teams experience
Having led teams since the age of 14, we have been able to lead high performing teams with great success in military, community, education and business contexts. We understand how best to engage a team and motivate them around a shared purpose using a highly effective and engaging communication style. But more importantly, we know how to teach others how to do this too.
We are selective and loyal
Our skillset and experience is very unique – meaning that our ability to scale is limited. This means that we need to be selective about who we work with. The plus side to that means that when you engage us, we remain loyal to you as long as you need us. We also are able to dive deeper into your business and provide you the level of support you require, without feeling like you are ‘on the clock’.
